Stallard & JT's wins 2007/08 Series, Dickeson takes final event

The series win came down to the wire in at Sunday's Whitmore Square event, as both Michael Stallard (JT Cycles Avanti-Plus) and Christopher Luxton (Team Orbea) were able to win the series, with only 4 points separating the versatile riders at the race start.  A break that was large enough to soak up all the finish line points was able to get away to lap the field, resulting in the peleton's and the Series leaders' race ending early in a tactical move.  Will Dickeson (Savings & Loans) won from the breakaway, over Shane Gill (Clipsal & Domain Business Finance) and Reuben Menaud-Young (Team O'Grady).  Dickeson's ride was judged most aggressive, picking up 5 points in the Jax Sport Most Aggressive Classification and moving him up into seventh overall while Menaud-Young's high placing earned him some Polar Young Rider points.

Shane Gill collected several more points in the Bicycle Express/Cannondale Sprint King competition to easily win this classification, with more than double the points of his nearest rivals, team-mate Nick Wood and Chris Stack (Team O'Grady).

JT Cycles Avanti Plus wrapped up the team prize, narrowly beating SASI who weren't able to win enough points in the finale to overtake them in the Rendition Homes Team Classification.

The series prizes will be presented to the teams and riders at a coming dinner event - details to follow soon!
